Summertime fishing

Summertime fishing

  • On June 24, 2021

Summertime fishing is here, the Largemouth bass has been moving out on the ledges on Lake Chickamauga. There has also been a Mayfly hatch going on, so some good fish are hanging around the banks and overhanging trees. We’ve been catching these fish on multiple baits, dropshot, shaky head, crankbaits, and wacky rig.
Our North Georgia lakes have been fishing well, the Spotted bass has been deep, and are out on deep points, brush, and ditches. We’ve not been seeing much topwater action, but our lakes have an abundance of herring baitfish, so you always want to keep a topwater bait tied on. The deeper fish we’ve been catching on dropshot, shaky head, ned rig, and small swimbaits. This time of year your electronics can play a big part in your fish catching, there’s no reason in fishing an area you’re not marking fish on with sonar and livescope. So book your trip now and upcoming Fall trips.
