Lake El Salto

I had the opportunity back in June to travel to Anglers Inn in Mexico and fish Lake El Salto for four days. It was a trip of a life time, The lodge and staff was awesome. They go above and beyond to make your stay the best ever, the food is phenomenal. I would recommend any bass fisherman that is looking for a great fishing trip, needs to add this one to their bucket list. We fished 4 days and caught 200 plus bass ranging from 2lb to 7lb, we never got on any real big fish. The lake was down about 40 feet and they had not seen any rain since September of 2017. But I got to catch them the way I love to fish and that’s flipping around standing timber. The baits that worked best for me was a Strike King rodent, 10.5″ worm and a Senko, we did catch a few on crank bait and spinner bait. But the one bait I didn’t pack and take with me was a 1/2 oz rattle trap and they was killing it on the flats, lucky for me our guide had some. I use St.Croix rods on an ever day bases, and lucky for me Anglers Inn provides St.Croix Bass X and Mojo Bass rods, so all I had to do was pack me some reels and some tackle and go. This is going to be picture heavy.
