Lake Chickamauga is part of the Tennessee river that stretches 58.9 miles long and has 810 miles of shoreline. Chickamauga has been ranked 5th in the Nation for best bass fishery, and it holds the BFL one day catch record of 5 bass over 40 pounds . This is a river channel lake, so you’re always looking for current to be flowing. When the current is flowing the fish are feeding. There are so many different ways to catch fish on this lake. One might flip jigs around docks or go in the back of creeks or pockets and throw swimbaits. You can fish the river ledges and humps, with carolina rigs, big monster worms, monster spoons, 3/4oz jigs, shaky head, dropshot, spinner baits. In the early Spring the Tennessee rig catches your big girls, the Florida strain of Largemouth Bass is not all Chickamauga has to offer. There are also Spotted Bass and some huge Smallmouth bass.
